Fire officials discuss Portland firework ban

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Following the announcement of the third consecutive year of a personal firework ban in Portland, Portland Fire & Rescue spoke to the public about the decision.

Fire Marshal Kari Schimel and Lead Investigator for the PF&R Fire Investigations Unit Lt. Jason Andersen spoke about the ban, the possible civil and criminal infractions, and the impact of fireworks calls on the emergency dispatch center.
