Simon Cowell signs massive deal with Netflix for huge new show… complete with cringy title
SIMON COWELL knows how to make great TV – and he isn’t afraid to shout about it.
So much so, I’m told, his brand new series following his search to make the UK’s next big boyband has been called…Simon Cowell: Midas Touch.
I first revealed back in March that Simon was in talks with a number of streamers about buying the rights to the show, with my sources telling me he was close to striking a deal with Netflix.
My insider said: “Simon has been speaking to Netflix for months about this new show and they’re close to dotting the I’s and signing the T’s.
“Netflix is the perfect place for his new show and Box To Box, who are producing the series, have worked with them before.
“Simon and his team have been working so hard on getting the show off the ground and a final deal is so close now.
“The name of the show has given people a bit of a laugh.
“Simon knows he is the best at what he does and calling his show Midas Touch gives a new meaning to blowing your own trumpet.”
Simon will kick off his search with a series of X Factor boot camp style auditions on July 4 and 5 in Newcastle, before his search goes to Liverpool, Dublin and London.
Finding the next Harry Styles is going to be a tall order but who knows, he could be out there.
