Pokémon fans have a limited time to catch Scarlet and Violet’s newest ‘mon
POKÉMON is always adding new ‘mons into Scarlet and Violet that are only available for a limited time.
A new event has just been announced that will give players six days to grab a super powerful ‘mon, after which it’ll be gone.
Sceptile’s tera type is based on its Mega Evolution[/caption]Sceptile is the Grass-type starter from Generation 3 – Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald – and the next target of seven-star Tera raids.
It will be available to catch from Friday, June 28, 2024, until Sunday, June 30, 2024, and again from Friday, July 5, 2024, until Sunday, July 7, 2024.
Players will be able to complete one raid every day during this time frame, however, you can only catch Sceptile the Unrivaled once.
Sceptile will have the Dragon Tera type, meaning that players will have to be prepared for both Grass- and Dragon-type moves.
Dragon types are weak to Ice and Fairy types, and these are both good choices to bring if you’re hoping to take it down.
Sceptile is known for its high-speed stat, but luckily it won’t be able to double its speed with the Unburden ability, as raid Pokémon don’t hold items.
The Dragon Tera type of this raid is likely a nod to the Mega form of Sceptile, which is both Dragon- and Grass-type.
Megas haven’t been available in Pokémon since Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, but these games didn’t include Pokémon from outside of Generation 1 like Sceptile.
However, Mega Evolutions will be returning in the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A, though we don’t know which Pokémon will be included.
As this game is based on Generation 6, it is likely that many of the Megas that are included will be new to the series.
