Woman raped in Cornish tourist hotspot as cops launch hunt for 6ft attacker who fled scene
A WOMAN has been raped on a coastal path in Cornwall and the offender is still at large.
Devon and Cornwall police said a woman was raped at North Cliffs, close to Bassett Cove, at around 6pm on Wednesday, June 19.
Investigators have launched a manhunt and are appealing to the public for information.
The offender who fled the scene is described as white, approximately 6ft, slim and has dark brown hair which is approximately two inches long.
He was wearing a dark-coloured short-sleeved T-shirt, dark jeans, and dark trainers.
Detective Inspector Dan McKenzie said: “The woman is currently being supported by specially trained officers.
“Our enquiries remain ongoing into this incident, and I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anything which may assist our investigation to get in touch.
“Anyone who may have seen this man, or anyone who has any information about this incident to please contact the police on 101 quoting 50240152507.”
