‘HOW much for a pint of Coke?’ say Glastonbury fans as they brand drink prices ‘criminal’ after bar list is revealed

0

GLASTONBURY fans have been left stunned by the prices of drinks at this year’s festival after an on-site bar list was revealed.

Among the beverages on offer are pints of lemonade and cola for £6, cans of water for £2.50, and bottles of prosecco for £43.

Many commenting on social media site X don’t believe it’s value for money, in fact some have branded it ” criminal”.

One person wrote: “£2.50 for a can of water is criminal.”

Another shared: “£6 for a pint of coke [laughing emoji].”

A third said: “Some of those prices are insane. 43 quid for a bottle of wine! You can buy a quality vintage for that money.”

A fourth vented: “We need to stop this nonsense of Aperol Spritz at 12.50!! It’s not only in Glasto, everywhere in UK it has crazy prices for no reason, in Italy is like £5!”

Pints of draught cider and beer will set punters back £6.75 while a single shot of spirit with a mixer costs £7.75 – the same price as a 175ml glass of wine.

While booze prices may be deemed steep, they are still marginally cheaper than many venues in London where pints are often in excess of £7.

This year’s line-up is as eclectic as ever with Coldplay, Dua Lipa and SZA headlining the Pyramid Stage.

Other acts on the main stage include PJ Harvey, Burna Boy, Paul Heaton, Keane and Shania Twain in the legends slot.

And fans are predicting a former headliner will return to Worthy Farm for a secret set.

After mounting speculation, bookmakers William Hill have suspended betting on Kasabian appearing at the five-day event.

The band – which consists of singer and guitarist Sergio Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards, drummer Ian Matthews and guitarist Tim Carter – was formed in Leicester back in 1997.

They were fronted by Tom Meighan until 2000 when the star launched a drunken attack on his fiancée, now wife, Vikki Agger.

He was subsequently axed from the band and went to rehab for alcohol addiction.

Kasabian found fame with their self-titled debut album in 2004.

They have gone on to achieve six UK Number 1 albums, with all but their first studio album hitting the top spot.

They headlined Glastonbury Festival in 2014, alongside Metallica and Arcade Fire.
