A’s wrap up their six-game home stand looking for another series win

Good afternoon and happy Sunday A’s fans.

As the green and gold are set to square off against the Minnesota Twins for the seventh time in the last ten days, they do so looking for a series win. With one, they’d finish their weeklong home stand against the American League Central 4-2 with a pair of series victories. If not, they’ll head to Anaheim a much more modest 3-3.

Taking the ball today is Hogan Harris who’s been a great story and fill-in for an injury-riddled A’s pitching staff. Harris earned his first win Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals, and he’s surrendered just four earned runs over his 21.2 innings and four appearances as a starter this year.

Here’s the lineup behind Harris today written by Mark Kotsay:

Squaring off against Harris will be the 6’4’’ Venezuelan Pablo Lopez. After a few solid seasons with the Miami Marlins and last year with the Twins, many slated Lopez as a breakout candidate and Cy Young hopeful heading into 2024, but this season has been anything from it.

Lopez currently finds himself pitching to a 9.69 ERA in June surrendering more earned runs than innings pitched (14 to 13). He’s had a pair of starts this year allowing 7+ earned runs and a start allowing six walks, but Lopez still has ace material in him and has shown it a couple of times in 2024.

Below is the lineup behind Lopez tonight. Jose Miranda is 4/9 this series with three RBIs while Willi Castro, Royce Lewis, and Manuel Margot are all 3/9.

Here we go A’s!
