Spurs have been linked with Jonathan David
The speculation over David’s future has understandably intensified since Lille president Olivier Letang admitted last week that the Ligue 1 club are open to selling the prolific striker this summer.
Various sources have claimed that several Premier League sides, including Spurs and Man Utd, have been alerted by the 26-year-old’s availability.
This includes a recent update by Optus Sport, which suggested that the Red Devils and the Lilywhites could be set to battle it out for the Canadian international, who has just a year left on his contract at Stade Pierre Mauroy.
Spurs have not made contact with Lille yet
Sheth has now also taken to social media to confirm that Man Utd and Tottenham are eyeing David, with the journalist adding that many other Premier League sides are also interested in the forward.
He explained that while no formal contact has been made with Lille regarding a deal, things could change quite rapidly in this transfer saga.
Sheth tweeted: ‘Manchester United & Tottenham among number of Premier League clubs interested in Lille forward Jonathan David. No formal contact – can change quickly.
‘David into final year of contract. Lille President Olivier Letang said David & Leny Yoro can leave this summer.’

In terms of value for money, I do not think there is a better striker on the market than David at the moment.
I would not be surprised if we see a number of Premier League sides make an approach towards signing the 24-year-old over the coming days.
