‘I’ll get over this…eventually,’ cries disappointed biscuit lover after finding Jammie Dodger without key ingredient

A DISAPPOINTED biscuit lover says they will eventually “get over” finding a Jammie Dodger missing a key part.

Biscuit company Fox’s Burton’s has apologised after a customer bought a packet of Jammie Dodgers from his local shop – but found one with an unfortunate mishap.

The Jammie Dodger was missing the jam filling, with social media users saying the fault “takes the biscuit”.

MJ Fosker, 46, found the jamless Dodger and posted about it on social media.

The post on X, formerly Twitter, has now had over 1.6million views.

He said: “When you buy some @jammiedodgers from @Tesco for a lil treat and there is no jam in one. @AldiUK would never.”

MJ Fosker said: “I was really looking forward to enjoying a classic Jammie Dodger, which I’ve enjoyed as a sweet treat since I was a kid, but it seems my biscuit decided to play hide and seek with the jam!

“But I do think I’ll get over this…eventually.”

Fans of the biscuit range piled in to joke about the missing ingredient in the popular biscuits.

Lydia said: “Well it deffo was a jammy dodger then coz it dodged the jam.” [sic]

David joked: “I’ve seen a few first world problems in my time, but this one, well, takes the biscuit.”

Andrew commented: “Without jam, is it just Dodger?”

Someone else wrote: “The jam dodged the biscuit.”

The error came when the manufacturer made an update to their production line by upgrading their jam recipe.

The company behind the biscuits, Fox’s Burton’s Companies, reached out to the customer to apologise for the mishap and will send him a batch of jam-filled biscuits – with the new fruitier jam this time.

Russell Smith, Brand Lead at Jammie Dodgers said, “We extend our deepest apologies to MJ for any upset that has come from his Jammie-less experience.

“This is a result of an unfortunate mishap on our production line as we have made improvements to our jam recipe, creating a new, tastier jam that now is even fruitier than before.

“We always strive to give customers the stickiest, jammiest splat in our shortcake sandwiches, because after all, what’s a Jammie Dodger without the jam? Just a dodger, and it seems this time, the jam has truly dodger-ed.”

The new and fruitier Raspberry range is currently rolling out in stores nationwide.

‘I need more please’ scream Home Bargains shoppers as ‘lush’ Jammie Dodgers flavour spotted on back shelves

By Keira Clarke

SNACK fans are racing to shops where a “lush” Jammie Dodgers flavour is back on the shelves for just 49p.

Banana Jammie Dodgers are back in Home Bargains and shoppers are going wild.

The banana flavouring replaces the classic jam filling that Brits have grown to love over the years.

The biscuits were first launched in the UK in July 2022 inspired by the Minions film, The Rise of Gru.

This is not the first new flavour the biscuit company has tried – other tempting flavours have been launched such as cherry and apple.

Shoppers took to Facebook to share their thoughts on the rare sweet treats.

One user said: “I loved these need more please.”

Another said: “Will look out for these. Sounds lush.”

“Looks yummy,” said someone else.  A fourth user said: “Yes to those.”

You’ve got to head into a Home Bargains store to get your hands on these though, as they are not available to buy online.
