Yemen's Houthi rebels target ship in the Gulf of Aden as the Eisenhower aircraft carrier heads home
Yemen's Houthi rebels targeted a commercial ship in the Gulf of Aden, causing no damage, in a recent escalation of their attacks on shipping lanes amid the Israel-Hamas conflict. The vessel reported three explosions nearby but was not hit. The Houthis, who control Yemen's capital, claimed responsibility, identifying the target as the Transworld Navigator. The U.S. military destroyed three Houthi drone boats in the Red Sea and ordered the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower to return home after an extended deployment. The USS Theodore Roosevelt will replace it after exercises in the Indo-Pacific.
