Heat advisory until 8 p.m., relief coming next few days
HEAT ADVISORY UNTIL 8 P.M.
A large dome of heat covers the eastern half of the country. At the surface, high pressure is anchored along the East Coast, with a southwesterly flow of hot, humid air.
Partly sunny skies and dry weather will result in the warmest weather of the week, as temperatures climb into the mid-90s, but with a slight drop in humidity. Regardless, plenty of heat and humidity will make it uncomfortable, and it's important to stay hydrated and limit your time outdoors during the afternoon hours.
A cold front will cross Ohio Sunday, kicking off a few showers and storms late tonight through midday, but bringing a little cooler and less humid weather to start next week. High pressure will drift across the Great Lakes on Monday, with lots of sunshine.
However, a return flow from the south will warm things up again on Tuesday into the low 90s, coupled with increasing humidity that will again push the heat index into the upper 90s. The next chance for showers and storms comes ahead of a cold front late Tuesday night and Wednesday.
A more comfortable air mass will briefly settle in behind the front later in the week.
