According to journalist Dylan McBennett, Manchester United have explored a move for Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana, who is also thought to be on Tottenham’s radar.
Tottenham have been linked with Youssouf Fofana
Tottenham have been linked with a whole host of midfielders over the past few months and the latest name to be mooted as a target for the Lilywhites is Fofana.
The 25-year-old, who came off the bench in Les Blues’ Euros opener against Austria and helped them see out a 1-0 win, is thought to have admirers at the North London club.
This was suggested a few days ago by the print edition of Corriere Torino (via Sport Witness), who added that Spurs could battle the likes of Juventus, AC Milan and West Ham for the player.
Man United enter the race for Youssouf Fofana
The report explained that since the midfielder had just a year left on his contract, Monaco would be willing to sell him for around €20m-€30m (£17m-£25.3m) this summer.
If McBennett’s latest update is to be believed, Spurs might also have competition to contend with from Man Utd for Fofana.
In fact, the journalist asserts that the Red Devils have already made contact with the player regarding a potential switch to Old Trafford this summer.

It does not seem like Tottenham have settled on their top number six target just yet.
Perhaps the club are first waiting to see what happens with Conor Gallagher before going ahead with their alternative plans to bolster their midfield.
