Minor League Recap: CJ Kayfus Hits Two Homers and Gathers Six RBI While Gavin Williams Locks In
Minor League Recap for Saturday, June 22nd, 2024
Columbus Clippers 2, Worcester Red Sox 6:
Juan Brito, Kyle Manzardo, George Valera, Micah Pries and Dom Nunez all had singles, but that wasn’t enough for the Clips.
Akron Rubber Ducks 11, Binghamton Rumble Ponies 4:
Welp, Akron might not be enough of a challenge for Kayfus who had two homers and six RBI, bringing his OPS to 1.225. Kahlil Watson had a homer, also, and Joe Lampe and Milan Tolentino both had two hits a piece. Most excitingly of all, Gavin Williams pitched five one-run innings, striking out four, giving up four hits, and walking no batters, throwing 66 pitches. This is very good news for all Guardians fans.
Lake County Captains 3, South Bend Cubs 4:
Forgettable loss for the Captains, so I’ll just shout out Cooper Ingle who had a single and a walk and has an OPS of .928. Way to go, Coop.
Lynchburg Hillcats 0, Charleston Riverdogs 5:
Esteban Gonzalez had three of the Hillcats five hits. And has been really the only Hillcat consistently impressing on offense.
Complex/Summer League Scores - All Guardians teams won yesterday!
ACL Guardians 19, ACL White Sox 1 - Welbyn Francisca hit his second homer of the year.
DSL Guardians Mendoza 14, DSL Cubs Red 4
