Tai Tuivasa vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik agreed for UFC 305 in August
Heavyweights Tai Tuivasa and Jairzinho Rozenstruik are expected to clash at the upcoming UFC 305 card, which takes place in Perth, Australia, on Aug. 17.
Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Saturday, with both fighters verbally agreeing to the matchup.
Tuivasa is currently No. 9 at heavyweight in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while Rozenstruik is hanging on to a number at 15.
For Tuivasa, he returns home to Australia in hopes of ending his current four-fight losing streak in the UFC. Most recently, Tuivasa was submitted by Marcin Tybura in the first round back in March.
In his four losses, Tuivasa has fallen by knockout twice and submission twice. He attempts to end his skid and potentially save his job when he returns in August.
Meanwhile, Rozenstruik looks to build on his recent win over Shamil Gaziev, which put him back on track after a submission loss to Jailton Almeida. Overall, Rozenstruik has gone 2-3 in his past five fights, but he aims to win a second fight in a row for the first time since he rattled off four straight to start his UFC career.
Tuivasa vs. Rozenstruik joins a growing card headed to UFC 305 with middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis defending his title in the main event against Israel Adesanya.
