The 40-year-old businesswoman explained that she’d seen some gold wine glasses in a “fancy high end store” and loved them, although she “definitely didn’t love the price tag“.

So, being a savvy crafter, Sara – who founded her craft supplier company, Crafter’s Companion, in 2005 – had a go at making them herself, and declared: “I think mine look even better!”

“How to pimp up a 60p wine glass,” she wrote over the top of the video.

She began by using some liquid glue, which goes on blue but then “dries to a tacky clear finish”.

After applying the glue with a paintbrush to the base, stem and halfway up the main part of the glass, Sara got to work with the gilding flakes.

Net worth: Estimated at £37 million

She carefully used her finger to apply the flakes to the glue, sticking them on as she went.

Once she was happy that there was enough coverage, she used a kitchen towel to rub over the glass – removing any excess flakes and glitter.

“Obviously they aren’t dishwasher safe but you can wash them by hand if you’re gentle,” Sara concluded, looking delighted with the finished product.

She added that the gilding flake and glue process can be done “on all sorts of different surfaces”, and said they sell a “massive array of different colours” of them on the Crafter’s Companion website.

People were quick to comment on the video, with one writing: “Oh wow that’s amazing I’m having a family bbq Saturday – definitely doing this tomorrow!”

“Stunning,” another praised, as a third added: “Wowww so creative!”

“Amazing!” someone else said.

“I’d absolutely love to do these this weekend,” another admitted.

While someone else wrote: “I glittered a wine bottle for my unusual bottle shelf and now I refuse to open it cause it’s glittered!”

“I will offer you all the money for 30 per cent of your business,” another joked.
