A’s roster moves: Bido recalled, Nittoli DFA’d
A new arm for the bullpen
The Athletics announced a move to their bullpen on Friday afternoon just before kicking off the Twins series:

Bido returns to the Athletics after spending the past month down in Vegas. Bido made his Athletics debut in May in a spot start against the division rival Texas Rangers. He had been doing well in Triple-A up to that point and deserved the chance but it didn’t go well as he allowed four runs in 2 2⁄3 innings and left the game with a blister. The injury didn’t keep him down long but he’s struggled recently for the Aviators. He should take a spot in the bullpen for the time being but could be an option for a spot start down the line.
The right-handed Nittoli is the roster casualty for Bido. Nittoli had had a short but successful run with the Athletics, pitching eight innings and allowing only two runs, good for a 2.25 ERA. He’s hurt by the fact that he pitched two innings yesterday and likely wouldn’t have been an option for a few days. The club will surely hope they can sneak Nittoli to Vegas but there’s just as good a chance another team scoops him up after showing some good signs with the Athletics. After all, bullpen help this time of year is always extra valuable.
