Stars of iconic 1980s movie franchise pose at premiere ahead of upcoming reboot
ACTOR Eddie Murphy reunites with his original Beverly Hills Cop co-stars for the premiere of the film’s new sequel — 40 years after the first movie.
The 63-year-old appears with Judge Reinhold, 67, and John Ashton, 76, in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, which will stream on Netflix on July 3.
They were at a Los Angeles premiere of the film near the real Beverly Hills Police Department, where much of the film’s action is set.
“Beverly Hills Cop” went on to gross over $300 million worldwide and became an iconic ‘80s movie.
Two other films followed in 1987 and 1994.
Eddie, who plays cop Axel Foley, said: “I’m happy the movie worked out right and that it’s super-audience friendly.
“It’s always great when you do a good movie.”
The film also stars Kevin Bacon as a sinister senior cop and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Foley’s new sidekick.
Eddie has been married once and in several relationships.
He was married to Nicole Mitchell from 1993 until their divorce in 2006.
He then dated Scary Spice, Mel B, from 2006 to 2007 and Tracy Edmonds in 2008.
The comedian is currently engaged to Australian actress Paige Butcher.
