See you at Growler Guys on Saturday?

Hello and Welcome Back to FanPost Friday. The summer weather is here, yesterday was the official Summer Solstice, and here is a quick poem to the hero that keeps fans and players dry, especially from March to mid-June.

The Looming Gentle Giant

Happy Summer Solstice to the T-Mobile Park roof

It is now your “light” season

As you hit the midway point of your 24th and a half season of active duty

You can rest a bit easier on game days knowing you won’t be pressed into action as often

Your track record of preventing rain delays and postponements is as sterling

As the hidden tracks your steel wheels roll on to keep the game in motion

Rest easy in your folded position, allowing the train whistles to reverberate loudly

Letting all Mariners fans who enter know, they are truly at home

Speaking of home, we’re returning to our community back yard pub/outdoor living room/haven of Seattle sports fandom and beer selection known as Growler Guys TOMORROW for our first Mariners road game watch party of 2024!

Hope to see you there! There will be raffles for Mariners swag!

And now for this week’s prompt, brought to you by Grant Bronsdon in our sLLack channel yesterday:

How many Mariners games have you been to your life?

Give us your best estimate. I’m really curious to see the range of response here because the three biggest factors that I think lead to the highest numbers are 1) disposable income 2) proximity to the ballpark 3) how long you’ve been alive. Given that I’ve lived in Washington all my 40 years life and have been fortunate enough to be raised by baseball fans with disposable income, my best guess is that I’ve attended around ~325 games? (Not counting any I was taken to before I turned 5 or 6 and have zero memory of).

Let’s hear it! Give us your bad math estimates!

Have a great weekend, y’all! Enjoy the weather and I hope to see lots of folks at Growler Guys tomorrow!
