Six Olympians in Canada's preliminary roster for WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Finals 2024
Softball Canada announced their roster for the 2024 Canadian Women’s National Softball Team as a preliminary roster ahead of the WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Finals 2024.
This elite group of 21 athletes is set to compete in the P5 Colorado event, hosted by Triple Crown Sports and College Sports Evaluation from June 26-28 in Fort Collins, Col. Following this, they will showcase their skills at the Canada Cup from July 1-7, in Surrey B.C.
The roster boasts a blend of seasoned and emerging talent, including six members from Canada’s 2020 Olympic softball team and 13 athletes from the WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Group Stage 2023, where their efforts secured Canada’s spot in the World Cup Finals this year.
The team also includes 16 athletes who competed in last year's Canada Cup, while five new faces will make their debut for the Canadian Women’s National Team.
The coaching staff made their selections after holding two regional identification camps and one final selection camp.
The athletes who will represent Canada at the 2024 P5 Tournament and Canada Cup are:

The WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Finals 2024 are set to be played in Castions di Strada, Italy, from 15 to 20 July. Canada will open the tournament in Group A, playing against No. 1 USA, No. 6 Italy and No. 17 China. The top two teams from the two groups will advance to the Super Round.
Last year, Canada earned their ticket to the Finals after finishing in second place in last year's Group C of the Group Stage, played in Italy.
