Cher Rings in Summer in Bedazzled Denim Platform Espadrilles at a Tristan Schukraft Event in West Hollywood
Cher attended a celebratory event for Tristan Schukraft’s relaunch of The Abbey Food & Bar on Thursday in West Hollywood. Other notable guests included members and supporters of the LGBTQ+ community including Jean Smart, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Saweetie, Chloe Cherry, Law Roach, Phoebe Price and Bruce Vilanch, among others.
The legendary performer donned denim platform espadrilles for the occasion. Although they were hard to see beneath the hem of her trousers, the footwear style featured denim uppers dotted with sparkling rhinestones, breezy peep toes and thick woven platform soles that lifted her to new heights.
These days, the “If I Could Turn Back Time” singer frequently opts for platform styles, often fitted with sparkling adornments. Beyond Cher, a multitude of celebrities gravitate towards sandals and espadrilles, often in platform styles, including Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Gates and Angela Bassett.
These platform silhouettes are just about everywhere, especially as the weather warms up. A multitude of brands carry classic and more modernized espadrille styles including Dior, Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Prada, Christian Louboutin and Isabel Marant. More affordable styles come from the likes of Toms, J. Crew, Mango and Steve Madden.
In a classic and chic twist, the “Mask” star wore a fitted cream blazer layered over a matching cream corset embellished with large pearls. On the bottom, Cher wore dark-wash denim jeans with a wide boot-cut hem.
Cher’s shoe style is chameleonic, ranging from casual to glamorous. The “Believe” singer frequently wears black leather and suede boots in a range of heights and silhouettes, from ankle-length booties to over-the-knee platforms.
In the past, she’s also worn wedges and platform-soled pumps both on and off the red carpet. Cher has also dipped her toes into the world of fashion collaborations, starring in Balmain’s Blaze handbag campaign, Ugg’s spring 2022 campaign and launching a Pride Month capsule collection with Versace.
