Schenectady man arrested in child sex abuse image investigation
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Schenectady man was arrested after a cyber tip led to an investigation into child sex abuse images, per New York State Police. Joshua Morrell, 26, faces multiple charges.
On June 20, New York State Police executed a search warrant at Morrell's home in light of a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.
Charges:
- Promoting a sexual performance by a child
- Possessing a sexual performance by a child
Morrell was arrested at his Schenectady home and taken to Princetown State Police. He was processed and taken to Schenectady County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
