India imposes stock limits on pigeon peas, chickpeas to cool prices

0
India has implemented stock limits on pigeon peas and chickpeas to mitigate price increases and prevent hoarding, according to a government statement released on Friday. The measures are aimed at stabilizing food prices amidst reduced supplies caused by factors like last year's drought and the current heat wave. Stock limits have been set at 200 metric tons for wholesalers, five metric tons for retailers, and 200 metric tons at large retail depots.
