NJ Transit service suspended again in, out of Penn Station Midtown

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) -- NJ Transit service into and out of Penn Station is suspended Friday morning due to Amtrak overhead wire issues, officials said.

Midtown Direct trains are being diverted to Hoboken, according to NJ Transit. Tickets and passes are being cross-honored by NJ Transit, private buses, and PATH at Newark Penn, Hoboken, and 33rd Street, officials said.

Amtrak also announced service delays and modifications on rail lines between Philadelphia and Penn Station due to a disabled commuter train in New York. Commuters can expect delays of at least 60 minutes, officials said.

Empire service between Yonkers and Penn Station is temporarily suspended, according to Amtrak.

Friday's service suspension comes a day after service disruptions during Thursday's evening commute from an overhead power outage on the Amtrak rail.
