“India is fortunate to have him”: Sanjay Manjrekar on Jasprit Bumrah

Former Indian batsman, Sanjay Manjrekar believes that India is very fortunate to have a quality bowler like Jasprit Bumrah in their side. The pacer yet again proved to be a game changer for India in the match against Afghanistan by not only taking 3 wickets but also being very economical and giving away only 7 runs in his quota of 4 overs. He dismissed both the Afghanistan openers, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Hazratullah Zazai before dismissing Najibullah Zadran as well.

“There were many matches when we had not conceded the boundary and look at the difference between him and the couple of other seamers,” Manjrekar told ESPNcricinfo.

“They were also international standard, but quite rightly I mean, he’s looking even better and when you look at all the top-class bowlers around the world. There’s a big margin between them and Bumrah and India is so fortunate to have him in your playing 11,” Manjrekar added.

After bagging 3 big wickets against Afghanistan, Bumrah took his wicket tally of the tournament to 8. He has undoubtedly become India’s most lethal weapon in this tournament and they will definitely be relying on him to deliver in future matches as well.
