‘Run to Primark!’ Hayfever sufferers yell as they race to snap up £1.50 bargain buy that can help ease symptoms

WHILE many of us spend each year eagerly awaiting the summer months, it can often be a dreaded season for hayfever sufferers.

With high pollen counts aggravating the allergy, those who suffer can experience a large range of horrible symptoms – such as red, itchy eyes, runny noses and sneezing.

But rather than forking out on expensive gadgets such as air purifiers in the hope of easing symptoms, shoppers have been rushing to Primark to snap up a bargain buy instead.

And the best part of all? It costs just £1.50.

TOWIE’S Bobby Norris posted a short video on TikTok (@bobbycnorris) and begins by explaining how his hayfever has been “hell.”

“I could rip my eyes out with my bare hands,” he adds.

In the clip, he can be sitting on his bed with the eye mask on and notes: “I’ve found that if I put it in the fridge for, say, two hours and then put it on my eyes, it just soothes them a little bit.”

While making clear he’s not a doctor and that he isn’t claiming the product is going to medically or scientifically cure hayfever, he does point out that it’s “soothing” and has been helping him out.

The high-street store’s Basildon branch then re-shared the video, pointing out that they currently have the product in stock.

It wasn’t long before the posts racked up thousands of views and several comments from grateful hayfever sufferers.

“I’ve sworn by this and no one believes me!! Feel better Bobs!” wrote one.

A second commented: “It’s really bad this year so far. I have those they help me.”

Meanwhile, a third noted: “Oooo I’ll get my daughter some, thank you.”

And a fourth chimed in: “My 10 year old is struggling so much. I’m going to get one of these, thank you!”

Elsewhere, Fabulous previously told how hayfever sufferers have also been raving about 19p ‘Nuage Hay Fever Relief Wipes,’ from Home Bargains.

A woman named Emma Lawry took to money-saving Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK and penned: “Hayfever wipes 19p in savers Bedford.”

The quick and easy to use bargain buy is the ideal solution for anyone who doesn’t like taking tablets such as antihistamines.

Five tips to reducing hay fever symptoms in the garden

TV Pharmacist Thorrun Govind also shared five expert tips to help reduce hay fever symptoms in the garden…

Wear a face mask and gloves

Wraparound sunglasses or a mask can help stop excess pollen entering your nose and eyes when gardening.

Likewise, wearing gloves can help prevent face touching and spreading pollen onto yourself.

Check the forecast to avoid high pollen days

Most weather apps now have a built-in pollen indicator that can forecast the levels for the day ahead.

These levels can fluctuate depending on the weather, the wind direction, and even the time of day.

Avoid the morning when pollen levels are higher

On an average day, pollen counts rise during the morning, peak at midday, and then gradually fall throughout the afternoon.

Because of this, it’s often better to garden later during the day.

    Shower immediately when back indoors

When coming back inside from the garden, make sure to shower and change your clothes to wash off any pollen.

Also, avoid sitting on any furniture in your outside clothes, especially your bed, as this can transfer pollen onto the surface and irritate allergies further.

Keep windows and doors closed when mowing grass

Mowing the lawn can temporarily release more pollen into the air, so it’s crucial to keep all windows and doors closed to prevent airborne pollen from entering the home.
