In Kenya, around 20,000 people are bitten by snakes every year, with around 20 percent of cases fatal. Antivenoms often have to be imported and supplies are limited and may not be specifically tailored to the species involved. Now, the country is aiming to develop its own antivenoms in a bid to offer victims better treatment.
