'Geek Girl' Star Emily Carey Rocks Natural Curly Hair in New Candid Photos

If you watched the Netflix series Geek Girl, you probably won’t even recognize star Emily Carey in these new candid photos!

The 21-year-old actress was all smiles as they were seen leaving BBC Breakfast Studios in Manchester on Wednesday (June 19) in Salford, England.

Emily was joined by Holly Smale, the author of the “Geek Girl” books. Netflix dropped the 10-episode first season of the TV adaptation on May 30. Geek Girl follows a socially awkward teenage girl who unexpectedly becomes a model.

On the TV show, Emily has long red hair while in real life, she has short, black, and naturally curly hair.

That same day, Holly celebrated the show for remaining in Netflix’s Top 5 for several weeks.

“We launched GEEK GIRL three weeks ago and it’s STILL hanging on in the Top Five worldwide, like a gorgeous lil possum. ???? Thank you to everyone watching and sharing!! We love you too ❤️,” she wrote on Twitter.
