Suki Waterhouse Readies New Album 'Memoir of a Sparklemuffin,' Drops Lead Single 'Supersad'

Suki Waterhouse is back with new music!

On Thursday (June 20), the 32-year-old musician and actress introduced her forthcoming double album Memoir of a Sparklemuffin with its lead single “Supersad.” This marks her first album since 2022′s I Can’t Let Go.

She also unveiled the complete tracklist and explained the project’s unique title.

“I tried to write a nineties song you could hear playing at the mall in Clueless or as an opening track for Legally Blonde,” Suki said about “Supersad,” which was paired with a music video directed by Émilie Richard-Froozan.

How did she come up with the title for the album? It’s all inspired by a very uniquely named spider.

“I came across the Sparklemuffin — which is wildly colored, does this razzle-dazzle dance, and its mate will cannibalize it if she doesn’t approve of the dance. It’s a metaphor for the dance of life we’re all in. The title felt hilarious, ridiculous, and wonderful to me,” she explained in a press release.

Memoir of a Sparklemuffin will arrive in full on September 13, 2024.
