Albany men charged with murder in fatal stabbing

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Albany police have arrested two men in connection to a fatal stabbing. The incident took place around 3:40 a.m. on June 3 in the area of Washington Avenue and Quail Street.

Staff from Mohawk Ambulance told police they were flagged down by a man, who had been stabbed. Police said the 25-year old had a stab wound to the back. While on scene, police were approached by someone who said there was another stabbing victim on the 400-block of Washington Avenue. There, they found a 24-year-old man with multiple stab wounds, who was unconscious and unresponsive.

The 25-year-old victim was taken to Albany Medical Center in stable condition. The 24-year-old victim was pronounced dead at Albany Med and identified as Abel Vasques-Bautista.

Marco Reyes-Lopez and Javier Martinez-Reyes were arrested. Both were charged with one count of murder in the second degree and one count of gang assault in the first degree.

Both were arraigned and sent to the Albany County Jail.
