Wienermobile makes pitstop in Topeka: Where to find it
TOPEKA (KSNT) - An iconic vehicle will roam the area throughout the weekend.
On Thursday, June 20, The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile was at the Dillons on Southwest 22nd Street and Southwest Fairlawn Avenue for most of the day. It's the first of multiple days the hot-dog shaped car will be in Topeka.
Matthew "Grillmaster" Bailey, of Madison, GA., is one of the Wienermobile drivers.
"Well, you can always expect some fun, some smiles," Bailey said. "You can take pictures, get yourself an iconic weenie-whistle, and be able to experience this wonderful American icon."
The Wienermobile will be in Raytown, MO., Friday, June 21, before returning to the area to visit Oskaloosa Saturday, June 22. On Sunday, June 23, the car will be stationed at the Kansas Children's Discovery Center in West Topeka.
This is one of six Wienermobiles throughout the United States. The hot dog's home base is Madison, WI.
