It may be the offseason, but Austin Reaves let it be known he has no love for the Boston Celtics.

It's been a rough couple of months for anyone associated with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The team was bounced for the second year in a row by the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs and fired their coach which they’ve yet to replace. Now, the Boston Celtics have won another title giving them 18, passing up the Lakers, who are stuck at 17.

With the offseason here, Lakers guard Austin Reaves got on the golf course and played hole No. 11 of the Pete Dye Course in French Lick, Indiana, in preparation for the Good Good Midwest Open.

Fans showered him with love and banter and Reaves embraced the chatter.

He flat-out told a fan he wasn't going to be playing for the Pistons when they requested his services and he gave a look of disdain when another shouted, “Go Celtics,” which is the appropriate response one should have when hearing those words.

Under no circumstances is liking the Celtics okay and Reaves kept that energy even on the golf course after what was undoubtedly a tough season.

It’s good to see Reaves being exactly what Lakers fans want on and off the court. He puts maximum effort on the floor and has improved every season. Even when he could've taken the high road, he shared his disdain for Boston.

The Celtics having one more NBA title than the Lakers is not an ideal, but it's moments like this that keep the rivalry alive.

Now Reaves will have the opportunity many Laker greats have had and focus on winning a title and getting even with the Celtics and, hopefully, even passing them with another championship after that.

That’s what happen the last time Boston won it all in 2008, the Lakers went back-to-back under the leadership of Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol.

If LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Reaves could accomplish that it would take them to another stratosphere of greatness.

For now, the franchise needs to get themselves in a better position to do so by potentially drafting a wing, hiring a head coach and bringing the right free agent on the team.

Until then, it’s Buck Foston.
