Angels RHP Jose Soriano (infection) placed on 15-day IL

The Los Angeles Angels moved right-handed starting pitcher Jose Soriano onto the 15-day injured list on Thursday due to an abdomen infection.

The move was retroactive to Monday.

Soriano was scratched from a start Monday due to pain in his abdomen. The team initially was hopeful Soriano would not need an IL stint.

Zach Plesac, recently recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake, cou
