Man struck by train after being bumped onto the subway tracks: NYPD

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A man was struck by a train after being intentionally bumped onto the subway tracks in Brooklyn on Thursday, according to the NYPD.

The incident occurred at 11:04 a.m. at the Jay Street-Metro Tech subway station.

A southbound R train was entering the station when the man was bumped onto the tracks, police said. The emergency brake was applied, but it was too late.

The man was taken to a local hospital. Their condition was not immediately available.

A person of interest was taken into custody, police said.
