Police investigating fatal Orange County crash

WOODBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police are investigating a fatal crash on Route 6 in Woodbury. Police say the crash involved four cars.

On Wednesday, around 5:30 p.m., state police responded to Route 6 in Woodbury for a reported crash. State Police say an investigation found a 2021 Kia was driving westbound on Route 6 and rear-ended a second car going in the same direction. The Kia then crossed over the double yellow lines and struck a third car traveling eastbound.

Police say a fourth car traveling westbound was struck by the second car. The passenger in the Kia was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not identified the fatality at this time. The drivers of the Kia, second, and third cars were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation is ongoing.
