Shohei Ohtani’s bobblehead comes with ‘Decoy’ the bobbledog
Good dog.
A star player getting a bobblehead doll from their team is nothing new. A star player with their dog? That’s a Shohei Ohtani special. August 28th is Ohtani night for the Dodgers, and they just unveiled what might be one of the best player-centric bobbleheads of all time.

I make this claim of brilliance based on a few distinct factors:
- It actually looks like Shohei Ohtani, which should be the lowest bar to clear — and yet teams still screw it up
- There’s a dog on it
- The dog’s head also bobbles
I’ll be honest, I haven’t really studied up on the “Shohei Ohtani Dog Beat” like I should have, so I didn’t know his name was Decoy. Firstly, this is a very good dog name. It’s unique, it’s memorable, and it’s adorable. Also it’s extremely funny to imagine that he named his dog after his nickname for Ippei Mizuhara.
I kid, I kid.
Seriously though, this is a really good bobble head. There’s no doubt it’s going to be one of the most popular in MLB.
