Minnesota governor nails Trump for giving his state nothing but 'bills for his security'

0

Brought on to discuss Donald Trump's desperate need to win over voters in key midwestern states if he has any hope of victory in November, the governor of Minnesota called out the former president as a deadbeat on MSNBC Thursday morning.

Speaking with "Way Too Early" host Jonathan Lemire on "Morning Joe," Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) laughed off the ex-president's claim he can win the state he lost in 2020 when he only garnered 45 percent of the vote.

"Well, he said he won it before so that's what Donald Trump says," Walz began. "I remind folks that Joe Biden came closer to winning in Texas than Donald Trump did in Minnesota. With that being said, look it is going to be close."

Pointing to the key states including Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, he took a jab at the difference between when Biden shows up in his state and when Trump does.

Look, when Joe Biden comes out to Minnesota he brings jobs and decency," he told Lemire. "Donald Trump is on his grievance tour and he leaves us with bills for his security."

He later added, "What do you hear from the Trump administration other than grievance and retribution? Look, esteemed epidemiologist Donald Trump did nothing during COVID. Now he's going to solve the Middle East crisis and climate change, you know, on the first day, immigration? Not going to happen."
