BRITAIN’S Got Talent boyband star Jamie Lambert looks unrecognisable 10 years after shooting to fame on the show.

The 35-year-old won the eighth series of the talent competition alongside Michael Auger, Matthew Pagan, Thomas J. Redgrave and Richard Hadfield.

In 2022, the musical theatre group announced they were going their separate ways – and now Jamie is launching his own solo career.

The singer took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the exciting news with a snap from his new album – and he looks totally different to when he was on the show.

Jamie wrote: “I’m absolutely DELIGHTED to finally be able to tell you that I’ve signed a record deal and my debut album, What I Was Made For, will be released on September 27th.

“And…. Anyone who Preorders the album will get exclusive access to the Presale for my first ever solo tour..”

He continued by explaining that he can’t wait to get up on stage and perform his new songs at four different venues – and tickets go out this Monday.

Jamie ended the post with: “I’m so grateful to you all for everything you’ve given me over the years.

“I’ve been so excited to tell you about this, and little Jamie would be amazed to think that one day he’d be doing this.

“I can’t wait to see you there and I hope you love the record as much as I do.”

Fans rushed to support the TV star with his new venture.

One wrote: “WELL DONE JAMIE!!”

Another said: “Fab news! Can’t wait to hear it.”

“Oh Jamie. That’s the very best news EVER. Congratulations. I can’t wait to be able to pre-order the album and be able to see you perform,” a third chimed in.

A fourth tweeted: “So bloody proud of youthis is incredibly exciting and I cannot wait to order this and see you live omg.”

Singing means to much to Jamie after he opened up about how it saved his life after he developed eating disorder and body dysmorphia.

The star spoke out about it on The Wright Stuff back in 2017.

He said: “I stopped singing for about three years when I moved away from home.

“I was unhappy. I didn’t like the course at the time and nothing was really working for me,” he explained.

“I responded by not eating and then I developed what’s known as body dysmorphia which is when you look in the mirror and you don’t quite see what is reflected in truth.”

Jamie hinted he hasn’t completely recovered from his illness but said singing is helping him.

“It never really truly goes away but singing obviously massively helps me during the recovery process. And you learn to be more confident with yourself,” he told the morning TV panel chaired by Matthew Wright.

After BGT, the members of Collabro went on to have a very successful career.

They’ve had seven studio albums, and six successful singles.

Richard left in 2016.
