HOLLYOAKS’ Steph Waring was left with a huge hole in her lip after a toe-curling injury in the gym.

The actress, 46, was working on her hip thrusts when she hit herself in the face with a weight.

Covering her mouth she told fans that the “gym is officially dangerous”.

“So I was doing a hip thrust with a 36kg weight and it rolled up my body and onto my face,” she explained.

“And I now not only have a split lip, but a gaping hole between my gum and my bottom lip.”

She pulled her hand away to reveal the bloody gash on her lower lip.

“I can’t even open my mouth. I mean… what the f***,” she exclaimed.

Her video cut to her on the set of Hollyoaks, where she’s filming her final scenes after her character was axed.

“So this lip colour is how we disguise said lip split in the acting world. It’s very dramatic – what do you think?” she told the camera.

She asked if fans thought she’d get away with the red cover up.

“I can’t believe it’s taken me to my last block on Hollyoaks to discover a strong red lip,” she joked.

In the caption, she wrote: “The show must go on…”

“Oh gosh that’s covered it so well!! Bless you,” one fan wrote.

“Like a queen she continues! Xx” chimed a second.

“I bet that is really throbbing,” wrote a third.

“Ouch that looks very sore I’ve said for years that exercise is bad for you Hope it heals up soon,” said a fourth.

Steph announced that she was leaving the Channel 4 soap in April after 28 years on screen.

Stephanie has been one of the longest-serving characters playing Cindy Cunningham on the programme.

Taking to Instagram she revealed that show bosses had made the decision to axe her from the soap.

The actress shared a lengthy post in which she admitted she was “heartbroken” over the news.

Steph was delivered the huge blow from show chiefs two weeks ago with the star admitting she was given the option to reveal she quit in a bid to avoid public “embarrassment” of her being axed after such a lengthy stint.

Describing her unexpected soap exit as “gutting”, Steph also revealed to fans in her emotional post that she was the only show “original” to be given the boot.

Her lengthy post began by saying: “I can’t believe I am writing this and I have taken the last two weeks to process and come to terms with the shock of what I am about to say.

“I am heartbroken to announce that my character of Cindy has been included in the actors reduction of Hollyoaks.

“As an actress obviously I understand there are no jobs for life but with my 28 years on the show I hoped that Cindy would survive the exciting revamp and continue into its new era, especially as I began playing her in 1996, making me the only original cast member remaining to be included in the cast cull, which I can only describe as gutting.”

Spilling the secrets of how the conversation surrounding her axing went down, Steph added: “I was given the chance to say I had chosen to quit the show to spare me any embarrassment of revealing that I’ve been axed, which was very kind but I don’t want to lie to the fans who have followed Cindy’s journey for nearly 3 decades as I believe they know she nor I would ever have left the show by choice.

“Hollyoaks is in my blood and I have loved every minute of walking in Cindy’s heels.

“I would like to add that I totally understand all shows evolve, so whilst I cannot hide my devastation I can only express my gratitude for my time on the show and respect the producers decision with no anger just sadness.”

Steph further revealed that she has been kept in the dark surrounding Cindy’s exit but has been “assured” that she won’t be killed off.
