A MOTOR which Jeremy Clarkson said “feels like a £100,000 car” with heated seats and tinted windows can be snapped up for under £11,000.
Even in its day the model was cheap at £26,000 but now it’s on sale for less than half that.
Reviewing the car for The Sunday Times in 2015, ex-Top Gear star Clarkson heaped praise on the Jaguar XE.
He wrote: “I was on the M40 — a road I know so well that I’ve given all the Catseyes names — when I suddenly realised that the XE is extremely comfortable.
“It has a refinement that is far beyond anything you could reasonably expect in this area of the market.
“In short, it feels noticeably more expensive than its German rivals.
“The XE feels like a £100,000 car.”

He even went as far as to say it was a “better buy” than the equivalent models from more popular luxury brands like BMW and Mercedes.
The Grand Tour host also went wild for the car’s aesthetic, adding: “It gets better because it is also extremely good-looking.
“It doesn’t stand up and shout, ‘Look at me’, but when you do, you will be mesmerised by its beauty.
“It’s a minx with windscreen wipers.”
Amazingly, despite all its acclaim, and the fact that luxuries like heated seats and tinted windows come as standard, the XE has seen some heavy depreciation in less than a decade.
One listing on CarGurus has a 2015 XE Portfolio edition, similar to the one Clarkson tested, for just £10,900.
That’s with only 68,257 miles on the clock so it’s not exactly at the end of its life.
And for 237 horsepower, it’s surprisingly cheap to run with a top-end fuel economy of 46mpg.
Plus, it sits in insurance group 2019 which, according to Finder, means an average premium of just £1,295 a year.
