Norman girl randomly chosen to meet Taylor Swift at Scotland concert

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to be chosen as the "winner" of the "Taylor Swift 22 hat" at her concert. There's one fan at each show and there's only been 103 so far. A young girl from Norman joins that group after she was randomly chosen at one of the Scotland shows earlier this month.

Natalie Streight got to meet and hug her favorite singer, Taylor Swift.

"In my mind, I was thinking, oh, my God, Taylor Swift is hugging me," said Natalie Streight who got the "22 hat" at the Eras Tour.

The Streight family was in Scotland on a family vacation when the timing matched perfectly to also go to the Eras Tour.

"We happened to see that she was going to be in Edinburgh the same three days that we were already going to be in Edinburgh...and we got tickets," said Lara Streight, Natalie's mom.

Natalie has always wanted to meet Taylor Swift.

"She wrote a letter to Taylor Swift on scrap paper a year and a half ago," Lara said.

"I always said, I'm going to be that girl someday. I'm going to meet Taylor swift. And none of them believed me," said Natalie.

On June 7, someone from Swift's crew randomly tapped her mom on the shoulder at the Edinburgh show.

"I thought, like, what did we do wrong? Are we getting kicked out? I was freaking out that it was like something terrible. And then we started walking towards the stage and then I realized, okay, this is... this is what's happening," said Lara.

Finally, Natalie's wildest dreams came true.

It's not just a hat though. Taylor Swift signed it. It's also a pretty big deal to be chosen as the lucky fan.

There's been over a hundred shows and only one fan is picked at each one, which means out of the millions of Taylor Swift fans across the globe, 8-year-old Natalie from Norman joins just a small number of special ones.

Natalie said she loves everything about Taylor Swift and knows all the fun facts about the artist.

"She is really nice and she gives a little notes to her fans at the tours and she's really kind to them and she just acts so sweet to everyone," said Natalie.

Natalie, who's forever dancing like she's 22 said this memory will never be forgotten.

To protect the hat, she said the family will be putting it in a glass box to never be touched and it's a memory she will never stop sharing.
