BETHANY Platt has taken a huge risk in Coronation Street that could derail her career forvever.

The magazine writer was left stunned when she realised that her first job assignment at a brand new publication was to cover the canned documentary about murderous footballer Corey Brent.

Kevin took her building pass in an apparent bid to raid Stefan’s office

Abi Franklin had been facing the thought of fresh hell when it was revealed weeks ago that the lad who brutally murdered her son, Seb, had landed his own documentary charting his return to professional football after being locked up for killing her son.

She was left furious and managed to start a campaign to get the programme axed, which proved to be succesful.

Not long after, she was left riddled with fear when multiple deep-fake AI sex tapes using her image began to circulate the internet.

During the latest episode of Coronation Street, Abi ‘figured out’ that Corey’s manipulative father, Stefan Brent, must be behind the explicit videos.

Abi drew this conclusion as a result of Stefan being the owner of the publishing group employing Bethany at the magazine.

Bethany had given Abi the heads up about the article due to be released which prompted her to do some more investigative work.

She soon insisted that it must be Stefan due to all of his links to everything Corey related and his fury at Abi when she managed to get the documentary pulled off air.

Abi took her concerns to DS Lisa Swain and was later horrified to learn that after one round of initial questioning, Swain had let Stefan go and ordered no further action in the case.

Furious at the decision, Abi was unable to concentrate and she later stormed Stefan’s office in a bid for answers.

Later in the episode, after a tense run-in at Bethany choosing to continue working for Stefan, she later confessed she would be willing to spy on him for Abi and find out information.

Although this notion was initially dismissed, Abi’s partner Kevin later visited Bethany to talk about what she had said.

He said to her: “What you said about being on the inside, I think you could help.”

As Kevin insisted he needed “access”, he said to her: “Have you got a pass?”

As Bethany reluctantly handed over her building access pass, she jeopardised her future career with the bold move.

Abi has fallen victim to a troubling deep-fake porn plot

Bethany asked Kevin what he would do with it, to which he replied: “That you don’t need to know and we have not had this conversation?”

Has Bethany just made a huge mistake or will Kevin find the evidence he needs to prove Stefan is behind the AI porn?

Coronation Street's shock exits 2024

Corrie has said goodbye to several cast members this year. Let's break down who's left the famous soap:

Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) has said farewell to Corrie to start a new life in Germany.

The youngster moved to live with her dad Dom Everett, who went back on the £10,000 bribe Eliza’s grandfather Stu had offered to keep him out of her life.

Paul Foreman will bow out of the soap this summer when he loses his fight with motor neurone disease (MND) in tragic scenes.

After being diagnosed last year, the fan favourite, portrayed by Peter Ash, was devastated to learn he only had months left to live.

Viewers know he is planning to take his own life to end his suffering.

Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) departed the cobbles after being offered the opportunity of a lifetime to study in America.

Though she struggled to decide with her stepdad Paul’s impending death from MND, she was convinced she had to live her life to the full.

Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) has struggled with the sudden departure of his father Peter from the cobbles.

The Weatherfield legend left his family and loved ones behind on Boxing Day, 2023, when his wife Carla Connor encouraged him to travel around the world with a friend.

Simon’s been on a downward spiral ever since and his exit could end in tragedy.

Alya Nazir is set to leave the cobbles as actress Sair Khan prepares to go on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her first child.

It looks likely she’ll be heading to Dublin after securing a lucrative new job, leaving her colleague and fling Adam Barlow behind.

Show stalwart Eileen Grimshaw is taking a break to star in the Sister Act The Musical UK tour.

She’s had to leave the Street immediately after her son Jason broke his back after falling off a moped in Asia. She will be back filming in May once her dates on the tour come to an end.
