Royal Cork Yacht Club Cadets Set Sail for Exciting Summer Adventures Across Europe!
Fellow sailors and enthusiasts! Our talented cadets from the Royal Cork Yacht Club embark on an epic adventure across Europe for a series of prestigious National, European, and World events this summer. With 29 cadets competing in 12 championships across 9 countries, our club is set to leave a lasting impression on the international sailing stage.
The excitement is palpable as the Royal Cork Yacht Club will be represented in four world championships, including World Sailing (ISAF) Youth Worlds. The Optimist class, takes the lead with the largest number of cadets competing, followed by the ILCA class.
The sailing journeys of our talented cadets will take them to some of the most breathtaking locations across Europe. From the serene Lake Garda in Italy to the picturesque shores of Aarhus, Denmark, and the vibrant city of Kiel, Germany.

420: – Open European Championship (Portoroz, Slovenia) Represented by Isha Duggan & Tommy Hiras, as well as Caiombe Corkery & Lucy Moynan
Optimist: – European Championships (Carrara, Italy) Represented by Abigail O’Sullivan and Conor Lynch
Optimist Euro Team 2: – Optimist Gold Cup (Monfalcone, Italy) Represented by Luke Power, Rian O’Neil, Annabelle Wilson, and Dougie Venner
Optimist IDT: – French Open Nationals (France) Represented by Ayda Bruen, Isaac Vaughan, Blake Vaughan, and Tara Hayes
