PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs will officially reopen in mid-July, the resort announced on June 19.

The historic Oregon vacation spot will reopen for the first time since the resort shuttered in 2018 due to financial troubles. The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, which owns and operates Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs, expected to reopen the resort in 2023 following a $4.5 million renovation project. However, the tribal government suffered a major setback when extreme weather caused major damage to the construction project in May of 2023.

“After years of hard work and planning, we're excited to introduce you to our re-imagined and restored resort,” Kah-Nee-Ta Hot Springs wrote on social media Wednesday.

Upgrades to the resort include new natural hot springs soaking pools that range from 92 to 104 degrees, a “lazy river,” a children’s wading pool and an ample poolside lounging space with private cabanas.

“With 300 days of sun, it's the perfect destination for relaxation and rejuvenation,” the social media post reads.

The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs has not announced the official date of the grand opening. An official date is expected to be announced in the coming days.

“Join us in mid-July for the revitalized experience of a lifetime,” the resort said. “Stay tuned for more information, updates and our grand opening date.”
