A LATE night Channel 4 favourite is returning in a matter of days – but with a twist.

The network first aired The Last Leg in 2012 alongside the Summer Paralympics, before becoming its own series the following year.

To date, 30 series and over 300 episodes have aired with host Adam Hills and co-stars Alex Brooker and Josh Widdicombe and now fans can expect the trio to return in a matter of weeks.

But instead of being a normal episode featuring a range of topics from across that week, the episode on July 5 will be an Election Special, following the General Election the day before on July 4.

The two-hour special will feature special guests, although they are yet to be confirmed.

Channel 4 said of the show: “The team reunite at this crucial time as Adam, Josh and Alex analyse the results, look back at the highs and lows of the campaign and do their best to make sense of the chaos the election has left behind.”

The show previously ran an Election Special in 2019 and the trio didn’t hold back on their comedic analysis of the results.

Alex, 40, was most recently seen on this year’s series of The Masked Singer.

He was eventually revealed as Bigfoot after making it all the way to the final, where he finished runner up to winner Danny Jones as Piranha.

After the final, he revealed how bosses of the ITV show were concerned about his reaction to his Bigfoot costume.

Alex – who had his right leg amputated as a baby – was happy to wear the costume, which featured a bandage and a crutch as a nod to his prosthetic leg.

Appearing on Lorraine, he said: “I think they were reluctant to show me it because I think they thought if they showed me a character with a bad leg that I would be offended, like ‘Oh, we knew you were coming on so we’ve got the one with the bad leg for you!’

“They were really lovely about it. But as soon as I saw it I thought ‘Oh, he’s hurt his foot…Bigfoot!’

“The thing I love about Bigfoot is the amount of people on social media who said it was me because it looked like me. That’s not how it works!”
