Noughties rock band announce UK comeback tour 12 years after huge hit and bassist’s romance with Little Mix star
THEY are the sound of the noughties and now The Struts are back on the road with a high-profile tour of Europe and the US.
The Grand Union Tour will see the Derby quartet playing a series of gigs, supported by the alternative rocker, Barns Courtney.

After that, the musicians head to Europe for eleven shows, in cities including Belgium, Cologne and Warsaw, finishing in Milan.
Speaking about their big comeback, the band’s frontman, Luke Spiller said: “We are really looking forward to getting back out and bringing out best show to date alongside our long term friend ad partner in rock, Barns Courtney. It truly is going to be the hottest ticket in town.”
Since releasing the catchy first single I Just Know in 2012, the rockers have built a large following and were transferred from their indie label to Future Records.
Just two years later in 2014, they performed for 80,000 people as the opener for The Rolling Stones in Paris.
That summer, they also did a 24-date tour, which included a gig at the Isle of Wight Festival. Spiller wore clothing designed for him by fashion guru Dame Zandra Rhodes , who formerly dressed Freddie Mercury.
The production process behind Rhodes’ costume for Spiller was later featured on the BBC documentary Oh You Pretty Things: The Story of Music and Fashion.
Indeed during the height of their fame, bassist Jed Elliot became romantically involved with Little Mix star Jade Thirwall.
The pair dated for three years before splitting in 2019 due to the a clash of schedules at the time.
A source said: “Jade and Jed have decided to end the relationship. There is honestly no big drama, it has just sadly run its course.
They spent so much time apart as Jed is on tour constantly in the USA with his band The Struts.”
