Traffic stop leads to ghost gun arrest in Albany
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany man was arrested after a traffic stop Tuesday night near Second Street and Henry Johnson Boulevard. Tyrone McNeil, 33, faces multiple charges.
On Tuesday, around 8:59 p.m., deputies pulled over a car near Second Street and Henry Johnson Boulevard. Deputies identified the driver as McNeil.
Law enforcement says McNeil had a loaded 9mm ghost gun, which he didn't have the right to possess. After further investigation, deputies say McNeil had a previous conviction for firearm possession charges out of Albany in 2021.
Charges:
- Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
- Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
- Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon
McNeil was taken to Albany County Correctional Facility as a pre-arraign detainee. He will be arraigned on Wednesday.
