Britney Spears posts cryptic instagram as she returns to social media after ex Justin Timberlake’s arrest
BRITNEY Spears has posted a new cryptic Instagram in the wake of ex-boyfriend’s Justin Timberlake’s arrest for driving while intoxicated.
On Tuesday, Justin was arrested for a DWI after reportedly running a stop sign and “swerving” while driving.
A few hours later, Britney shared a photo of a cocktail with a flower in it, alongside the cryptic message: “It’s the little things you know”.
Shortly afterwards, Britney posted one of her iconic dancing videos from her hotel room, gleefully showing off some new outfits including a white and neon green mini dress, and a black and cream cocktail dress.
“First cocktail dress ever !!! Playing in Vegas today and tonight too,” she wrote.
Britney disabled the comments section to prevent any speculation about what the message means, with the Lucky singer often sharing her posts with cryptic notes alongside them.
The pop duo dated between 1999 and 2002, but the subsequent fallout of their relationship – including songs thinly-veiled about each other – has remained with them both ever since.
This was reignited last year on the release of Britney’s memoir, The Woman In Me, in which she claimed she got pregnant by Justin but ultimately had an abortion after he told her he wasn’t ready to be a father.
She also accused him of cheating on her in their relationship.
Justin’s mugshot was posted last night following his arrest, with the N-Sync and solo singer looking glassy-eyed as he stared into the camera.
According to reports, Justin had been spending time with friends at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor in The Hamptons, New York, when he got into his car around 12.30am.
He was handcuffed and arrested at the side of the road after allegedly refusing to take a test to show if he was over or under the legal limit of alcohol.
The singer, who is married to Jessica Biel with whom he has two children, was arraigned on Tuesday morning, and officially charged with one count of Driving While Intoxicated.
He also achieved citations for running a stop sign and a “failure to keep in his lane.”
The pop legend could be forced to cancel some European tour dates of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour as a result of the arrest, with his July 26 court date clashing with his scheduled first performance in Krakow, Poland.
He potentially faces up to a year behind bars if found guilty.
