LEICESTER are closing in on appointing Steve Cooper as their new manager, according to reports.

SunSport exclusively revealed on Tuesday that Graham Potter was the front-runner to replace Enzo Maresca.

However, talks have now broken down with the ex-Brighton and Chelsea boss.

This has opened the door for Welshman Cooper – who has been out of work since being sacked by Nottingham Forest in December.

Leicester were left managerless when Maresca, who led the club to the Championship title, left for Chelsea following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino.
