TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- If you visit a park in Troy this summer, you might notice some changes from previous years. The city is using $2 million in federal COVID relief funds to renovate its parks.

Beman Park received playground equipment, spaces for dogs to play, and improved accessibility for people with disabilities. Officials said the city's shared green spaces are a worthy investment.

"It's all about our community, enjoying the parks, getting out," Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello said. "We all know that right up there with taxes, with education, that quality of life is so important to our neighborhoods all throughout the city."

The city is also making upgrades to their public pools and splash pads.
