Report: Tottenham target expected to reject CL club’s advances
According to Football Insider, Tottenham target Conor Gallagher is set to turn down the chance to join Aston Villa this summer.
Conor Gallagher to Tottenham rumours continue
The report backs up what has been widely reported about Chelsea’s perilous PSR situation and reveals that Gallagher had been earmarked for a sale by the Blues this summer, given that the midfielder has just a year to run on his deal.
It is explained that both Villa and Tottenham are alive to the opportunity and have expressed an interest in signing the 24-year-old.
However, it appears neither club have bid for the midfielder yet, with Gallagher currently representing England at the European Championships in Germany.
Conor Gallagher is not keen on Aston Villa move
However, Gallagher is not thought to be keen on making a move to Villa Park and it is alleged that the player could now turn down the chance to move to the Midlands.
The report adds that Unai Emery’s men have already started looking at other alternatives after learning that the Chelsea star might not agree to the move.
Finally, the publication adds that Gallagher’s preference is to remain at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea are open to offering the player a new contract.
Spurs Web Opinion
It sounds like Chelsea are coming around to the possibility that Gallagher might reject moves this summer and are now seriously considering offering the player a new deal.
Tottenham’s hopes of landing the midfielder might rest on Ange’s ability to convince the player that he will thrive at N17.
