With just three household ingredients in her homemade scrub, Redditor Bartlebydascriv makes shaving day much simpler.
“You need regular granulated sugar, olive oil, and a little bit of lemon juice,” she said.
“I also use some vanilla extract because if I don’t, it smells funny.”
She shared how there was no need to get all technical by measuring exact proportions of each ingredient.
Instead, she uses a plastic cup to make her magic mixture.
She simply adds a cup of sugar and some olive oil.
She then makes sure to stir everything until it resembles the “expensive scrubs at the store.”
She explained how the sugar doesn’t dissolve in the oil.
You also don’t have to spend a lot to get out of a hairy situation.
LESS HAIRY FOR LONGER
Walmart sells a four-pound bag of Great Value granulated sugar for $3.14.
An extra item in her DIY scrub will even give your shaving routine some swankiness.
“Then mix the juice of half a lemon in and add a splash of vanilla if you’re feeling fancy,” she said.
She recommends getting your legs wet in the tub before scrubbing with the mixture.
“I use it like a shaving cream and shave my legs with a fresh razor,” she said.
This is followed by rinsing.
Bathtub users beware – she suggests staying away from the tub for this shaving step.
“It makes the tub really slippery and it exfoliates so well it is kind of gross,” she said.
“I sit on the side of the tub and run the water when I need it,” she continued.
She makes sure to clean the tub and then take a shower.
Perhaps the biggest perk of all is that her DIY treatment means her legs stay hairless for longer.
“I can get away without shaving for a couple extra days when I do this and it feels amazing!” she said.
